P R Ramesh

P R Ramesh was the  Chairman of Deloitte India and has  over 40 years of experience in the profession. Ramesh graduated in Commerce from Osmania University, Hyderabad and is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Ramesh also served as a member of Deloitte Global Board and Deloitte Asia Pacific Board.

He has also been associated with various Regulatory bodies, Industry Bodies and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.  He was the Past President  of the of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry (India’s oldest Chamber of Commerce)

 He has served clients in manufacturing, banking and financial services, technology, media, telecommunications, energy and resources and consumer business sectors throughout his professional career.

Ramesh has been the audit partner of a number of India’s largest companies e.g. Tata Steel , Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Tata Motors, Voltas, Tata Communications (also then an SEC registrant), ITC, Mahindra Satyam, Haldia Petrochemicals, HDFC Ltd, IDFC, ICICI Bank, Eveready Industries, Microsoft India, ADP India.

He has co-authored publication by CCH titled iGAAP – Financial Reporting Standards in India including a comparison with International Financial Reporting Standards(IFRS)

He is a member of Board of Studies and the Faculty of Commerce of Osmania University.

He was a member of the Audit Practices Committee of the ICAI which issued the Guidance Note on the ‘Audit of Banks’.

He was a member of the committee set up by Accounting Standards Board of the ICAI which finalized the ‘Guidance note on Recognition of Revenue by Real Estate developers’.

Ramesh is an empaneled expert on IFRS with the International Monetary Fund.

Ramesh is currently the Chairman of the Insolvency Research Foundation

Ramesh is on the Executive Committee of the Indian Accounting Association for Education and Research and also served as Vice-President at large of IIAER

Ramesh is an Independent Director on the Boards of some leading listed and unlisted companies
